A refuge for children, birth - 11 years old, Catherine’s provides emergency shelter and compassionate care to as many as 10 children every night. These children have been removed from their home as a result of allegations of abuse, severe neglect or abandonment. On any given night up to 20 youth, ages 12 – 17 years old, are kept off the streets through our crisis shelter, Hidle House. In Hidle, we focus on providing safe shelter while working with youth to resolve immediate family problems. Often these youth and their families need short-term cooling off periods, up to 14 days. Empowering youth, 16-21 years old, to become fully prepared contributing, interdependent members of the community; Transitional Living serves up to 6 youth residentially and 14 youth in non-residential services each year. Hannah’s House

A safe haven for pregnant youth 16 – 21 years old, Hannah’s House is there to assist youth who would be living on the street or otherwise homeless. The 6 bed group home focuses on the health and safety of mother and baby with the assistance of live-in staff. While these young mothers are at Hannah’s House, they pursue completion of basic education, develop life skills, obtain and maintain employment, and prepare for self-sufficiency whether they choose to parent or adopt. Anchorage Family Counseling (AFC)

When school aged children, youth and their families need help with restoring and strengthening their relationships at home, AFC provides individual, family and group counseling and case management. Services are provided in the home, at school, or in our office for up to 12 weeks. As a partner with Bay District Schools, area Teen Courts and other agencies, we provide prevention and group intervention services to school aged, at-risk youth.Care Management

SOAR goes to the beach, neighborhoods and streets to find the youth at greatest risk for sexual exploitation and abuse. By providing them survival aid, access to shelter and other critical services, staff engage these youth, up to 21 years old, to develop trusting relationships in an effort to facilitate them leaving street life.
Safe Place

A nationwide program uniting businesses and runaway shelters, Safe Place provides a safety net for youth on the streets to gain immediate access to safe shelter. Businesses where youth congregate or are easily accessible to youth demonstrate their partnership to provide transportation to shelter through volunteers. They post obvious bright yellow signs on their buildings to demonstrate their participation in this program. Anchorage was the first shelter to partner with law enforcement to provide mobile Safe Place sites.
